Sending your kids out to fundraise

When selling those chocolate bars door to door (believe me, it’s a great learning experience for kids!) remember:
Don't send your sellers out unprepared. Part of youth sports is teaching. Helping kids with their sales skills goes a long way toward building self confidence.

Here's what to tell them:

  1. Make eye contact, smile and introduce yourself.
  2. Say one sentence about why you are raising funds.
  3. Say second sentence that asks for their help.
  4. Make sure that sentence includes the word "because".
  5. Extend sample item, catalog, or order sheet.
  6. Suggest a personal favorite item or bundle.
  7. Always ask for the order.

Do you have a good fundraising idea? Help the Haney Neptunes fundraise and parents to earn their fundraising dollars. Please bring your ideas forward. We are looking for parents to bring ideas and run individual fundraiser events. If you know of a company or organization that would be willing to provide sponsorship, then please let us know. Corporate sponsors are a cornerstone to the fundraising process and the Neptunes can work out a variety of ways to advertise our sponsors.

NEUFELD FARMS
It’s that time of year again – Neufeld Farms is one of our most successful initiatives that gets stronger each time it is available! Invite your family and friends to participate in this great fundraiser! Easter and Barbecue season are just around the corner so stock up your freezers with chicken, meats, burgers, appetizers, cookies,and pies for all your spring entertaining!
 
Here’s what you do...
Print off the order forms by clicking meat order or dessert order here or get a copy from the fundraising folder in the blue box.  For a cooke description page click here.  Fill in and get orders from your family, other family members and friends and then put the total order and cheque in an envelope in the “ADAMS” folder in the blue box at the pool. Please make sure your name, phone number, and email address is on the order form and make all cheques payable to HNAC.
 
Please note that all orders must be in by Monday, February 27 at 4:00 pm. All orders must be picked up on Saturday, March 10 @ 4:00 pm outside the Leisure Centre.   If anyone has any questions please contact Theresa Adams at theresa.adams@shaw.ca
 
This is a great way to stock your freezers and earn fundraising dollars. The products are very good and each item earns from $5 to $8 towards your fundraising obligation. The cookies and pies are all $3 per item towards your fundraising obligation.

PURDY'S CHOCOLATE BARS
We are selling boxes of Purdy’s Milk Chocolate Bars. Each case will be $40 and HALF of that money will be credited to your fundraising goal for this winter session! That means $20 towards your fundraising credit for each case you buy!  Buy two cases and your fundraising commitment is almost fulfilled.  Each carrying case contains 20 bars. Eat them yourself or sell them to family, friends, or neighbours for only $2 each. Hurry, we run out of bars quickly!

SILICONE EMBOSSED WRISTBANDS

FUNDRAISING REFFERAL
- If as a member family you recruit a new family to the Haney Neptunes (any season), please have them mention your name at registration.  If that family stays on with the club and joins the summer program (not including the Hammond program) or has just newly joined for summer, your family will receive a $100 credit towards your $150 summer fundraising responsibility.  Please note that it is up to you to ensure your name is noted & that you follow up again with the Director of Fundraising come summer!  With accurate documentation and follow-up, we will happily apply this credit.


BOTTLE DEPOT

For all of you looking for a way to support your fundraising obligations here you go;

Accounts are set up at both Haney Bottle Depot located at 2-22935 Lougheed Highway (east end of town) and Maple Ridge Bottle Depot located at 15-20475 Lougheed Highway (behind Shoppers & Save on Foods).

All you need to do is take your empties in, sort them and cash them in. Let them know you are from the Haney Neptune Swim Club and have them put it under that account. You will receive a receipt with the total that you cashed in. Put your family name on the back of the receipt and the first name of your swimmer. Please put all receipts in the blue communication box at the pool. Either put them in the fundraising folder or in my family folder. The blue box is usually out on the bleachers. If it is not there check with the coach as it is in the equipment room cage beside the teach pool. Please send me an email that you have put a receipt in the box.

This is a great way to pay off your fundraising obligations as every dollar you receive goes towards the deposit cheques that we hope to give back to you at the end of the Summer session.
